Service Desk Officer | Council | Initial 6-Month Contract Your new company A dynamic and progressive council committed to delivering high-quality services to their community. Your new role As a Service Desk Officer, you will be the first point of contact for users of council systems, ensuring product performance and handling minor technical issues. Your key responsibilities will include:

Answering service desk calls as per approved protocol.
Providing level 1 service desk support and level 2 desktop support to users.
Managing set-up activities for IT devices and systems, monitoring their performance to prevent service loss.
Installing and connecting system hardware or new software, performing system diagnostics.
Repairing and correcting malfunctions as necessary, in line with troubleshooting and maintenance roles.
Modifying or updating hardware or software assets as required.
Supporting the Team Leader and IT staff to maintain customer satisfaction and service delivery credibility.
Advising on improvements in operating procedures and systems, including IT hardware, network, and software upgrades.
Creating and maintaining support documentation to assist in restoring services and reducing the impact of unplanned outages.
Communicating regularly with the Service Management team to ensure user expectations are met and service standards are exceeded.

Referring unresolved calls to system administrators.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will need:

Considerable technical ability to handle minor problems.
Responsibility for the safety and security of IT plant and equipment, as well as the WHS of the business.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with users and the Service Management team.
Ability to provide support and advice to maintain customer satisfaction.
Experience in creating and maintaining support documentation.
Capability to deliver IT projects and ensure their timely completion.

Commitment to achieving high work standards and meeting response schedules.
