The Opportunity
As Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you will shape and drive Onside’s commercial strategy, encompassing revenue generation, market expansion, and strategic partnerships. Your leadership will create alignment, synergy, and success across our high-performing sales, marketing, and customer success teams.
Working closely with the CEO and other senior leaders, you will develop strategies that position Onside as a global leader in agritech. You will report to the board on performance and progress, ensuring transparency and accountability while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence across your teams.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy and Leadership- Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with Onside’s growth objectives.
- Drive revenue growth across multiple streams, including SaaS mid market sales, enterprise sales, partnerships, and customer retention.
- Lead market entry strategies for international expansion, ensuring product-market fit and a competitive edge.
- Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, cohesive commercial team driven by shared goals and high standards.
- Foster a collaborative culture that empowers team members to innovate, take ownership, and deliver exceptional results.
- Align cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and customer success, to create a unified and high-impact approach to achieving objectives.
- Lead and scale high-performing sales teams focused on both enterprise and mid-market customers.
- Oversee the development and execution of scalable sales processes, including pipeline management, forecasting, and complex deal negotiations.
- Identify and nurture strategic partnerships to drive growth and market share.
- Collaborate with marketing to align brand messaging, demand generation, and customer acquisition strategies.
- Ensure marketing efforts effectively support sales objectives and Onside’s market positioning.
- Oversee the customer success team to enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and lifetime value.
- Drive post-sale support initiatives, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities to maximise value for customers.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and reporting for all commercial functions to meet financial targets.
- Refine operational processes across revenue-generating teams to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Present regular updates to the board on commercial performance and strategic initiatives.
- Senior Leadership Experience: Proven track record in a senior commercial or revenue leadership role, in SaaS or technology scale-ups.
- Strategic Vision: Expertise in developing and executing go-to-market strategies that drive significant growth.
- New Market Expansion: Proven experience in identifying and successfully entering new markets to drive business growth.
- Sales Expertise: Strong understanding of enterprise and mid-market sales cycles, including complex deal negotiation and closure.
- Marketing and Customer Success Alignment: Experience leading integrated strategies across marketing and customer success teams.
- Broader Revenue Leadership: Experience driving operational efficiency and effectiveness across revenue-generating functions, optimizing processes to scale growth.
- High-Performance Leadership: Exceptional ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams, building a culture of trust, accountability, and excellence.
- Analytical and Data-Driven: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Communication Abilities: Excellent relationship-building and communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
