Payroll Accountant - North Sydney - Hybrid
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract. If you have strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of payroll processes, we'd like to hear from you
Key Responsibilities:
- Posting of payroll journals.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including deductions, leave balances, and superannuation contributions.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with month-end and year-end reporting.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders, including HR and tax authorities, to resolve payroll-related queries.
- Stay updated on changes to tax laws and payroll legislation, always ensuring compliance.
- Assist with audits and internal controls related to payroll processing.
- Assisting with payroll audit
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in payroll or accounting, ideally with knowledge of payroll systems and software.
- Strong understanding of payroll taxation, superannuation, and related compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team player.
