• Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations.
• Support tax planning initiatives to optimise the organisation's financial position.
• Manage GST and BAS submissions accurately and on time.
• Provide advice on tax-related matters to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to maintain accurate records.
• Assist in audits and liaise with external tax advisors as required.
• Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and their implications for the business.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Tax Specialist should have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in tax compliance and planning within the retail industry or a similar sector.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, including GST and BAS reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly.
• Certification such as CPA or CA (or working towards) is highly regarded.
