Restaurant Manager
Pizza Meine Liebe is looking for a Restaurant Manager to join our energised and committed team in Northcote. Pizza Meine Liebe is an established Northcote institution. We've been around for 19 years and have a loyal following of pizza lovers who swear by our simple, modern and produce-driven pizza.
As the Restaurant Manager, you will be the heartbeat of our team, overseeing day-to-day operations and driving business growth.
Reporting directly to the Business Owner, you’ll lead a dedicated and engaged team, ensuring that every aspect of service meets our high standards while fostering a warm, welcoming and service-driven environment. You will also be responsible for contributing to our food and beverage offering and for the marketing of the venue to sustain patronage and business viability.
You’ll collaborate closely with a small, tight-knit leadership team, including our Head Chef, and play a pivotal role in shaping the culture of the restaurant, leading with a calm, friendly demeanour that sets the tone before, during, and after service.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Lead the day-to-day operation of the business, ensuring exceptional service standardsManage efficient rostering practices and control costs throughout the business
Create a safe and supportive environment for your team, fostering diversity and inclusivity
Develop detailed knowledge of our menu, training staff on the provenance of ingredients and preparation of house-made items
Lead recruitment, team development, and internal training, ensuring staff professionalism and growth
Oversee workplace policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with licensing and safety regulations
Proactively manage stock levels and execute regular stocktakes
Be the driving force behind the human resources aspect of the restaurant, mentoring and managing your service team
Monitor the online reputation of the business and maintain its primary social media (Instagram) account
Manage reservations and efficiently roster to maximise revenue and control business costs

The Successful Candidate
We’re looking for someone with a genuine love for hospitality and proven experience managing or being a senior member of a front-of-house team in a high-service environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Be passionate about customer service and team developmentAbility to manage budgets, cost controls and sales forecasting
Proven experience in restaurant management and team leadership
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Genuine passion for delivering an exceptional dining experienceUnderstand food safety standards and regulations
Able to work evenings and weekends
