About the Role
A Motor Mechanic is required to join a skilled team responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of trucks and light vehicles. This full-time role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, including performing emergency roadside assistance.The position focuses on delivering high-quality workmanship and keeping vehicles compliant with roadworthiness standards.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive mechanical expertise and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A strong focus on safety, precision, and customer satisfaction is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Detecting and diagnosing faults in truck and light vehicle engines, transmissions, and mechanical components.
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, steering mechanisms, and defective parts for inspection.
- Repairing or replacing worn or defective parts and reassembling mechanical components with precision.
- Conducting scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, engine tune-ups, lubrication, and brake servicing.
- Testing and adjusting mechanical systems and parts after repair to ensure proper performance.
- Inspecting vehicles for compliance with roadworthiness standards and documenting work needed for certification.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using computer-assisted diagnostic equipment.
- Reassembling engines and other components with accuracy following repairs.
- Repairing and replacing damaged or punctured tyres, balancing wheels, and inflating tyres as required.
- Responding promptly to roadside emergencies, providing efficient repair services for light vehicles, utes, and trucks.
- Advising customers on necessary repairs and maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns.
- Maintaining detailed records of all repairs and servicing performed.
- Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic, with expertise in trucks and light vehicles.
- Familiarity with tyre repair, replacement, and balancing.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities for mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of service manuals and technical specifications.
- High attention to detail and precision in completing repairs.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license is essential.
