Senior Project Officer
This includes current and emerging water supply initiatives across Queensland over the medium and long term. You will contribute by helping develop strategic policies, assessment frameworks, methodologies, and managing funding for identified priority projects.
As part of a small team, you will engage in preparing high-level strategic documents and reports for government and executive management, as well as assisting in project design, planning, governance, and related budget and risk management.Your role will also involve critical support tasks, such as coordinating stakeholder engagement and assisting in the procurement of expert advisory and technical services.The Department The Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (DRMDW) drives growth for Queensland by managing sustainable water resources, leading innovation in manufacturing, and developing our regions.
From our offices in Brisbane and a network of regional offices and manufacturing hubs, more than 700 DRDMW staff work to create a Queensland where communities, businesses and water resources are sustainable and resilient.Key Duties and Accountabilities- Provide support for the RWSI team in the preparation of strategic water infrastructure planning documentation, including project assessment and analytical methodologies, project planning and reporting, research, planning documents, assessment frameworks and analysis on bulk water infrastructure issues.- Assist in the preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence and documents related to bulk water planning initiatives.- Support the administration of grant funding and evaluation of milestones associated with water infrastructure project investigation, assessment and delivery.- Coordinate consultation and engagement with internal and external stakeholders including other State agencies, Australian Government agencies, Government owned corporations, local government water service providers and other stakeholders in the water sector and their representative bodies or groups.- Provide process and coordination support for the team procuring expert advice on technical water supply matters and options including the prioritisation of competing projects for large scale bulk water infrastructure proposals undertaken by the Department and its partners/stakeholders.- Assist in identifying emerging issues and when required, prepare advice on program and project assessment and management issues in bulk waterinfrastructure assessment.
