Job Description
The Field Sales Representative will have the following responsibilities:
- Managing and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients
- Understanding client's current and future needs, proposing appropriate solutions, products, and services
- Maintaining regular contact with assigned customers, ensuring optimal service levels and customer satisfaction
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, and staying informed about competitor strategies
- Negotiate prices and collaborate with support staff to ensure customer retention and continued business
- Conduct presentations and coordinate the preparation of sales proposals, tenders, bids, contracts, and account management plans
- Participate in sales promotions, campaigns, and events to drive business growth
- Confidently and knowledgeably handle customer complaints, taking necessary actions to resolve issues to the customer's expectations
- Build long-term business relationships to leverage revenue and promote the business as a quality supplier
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Field Sales Representative role will ideally have the following key skills & qualities:
- B2B sales or account management experience, or experience in the express freight or logistics industry
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales growth through superior negotiating skills
- Extensive relationship-building skills developed from working in various busy service industries
- Experience in sustainability, renewable energy, life science or health care is desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to quickly learn product and service knowledge to effectively translate customer needs into solutions
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a busy team
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to use database management systems
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Current driver's licence
