We are seeking an experienced Senior Sleep Scientist-Clinical to join our team in a full-time permanent role.

About the role

As the Senior Sleep Scientist – Clinical, you will be integral in shaping the strategic direction and integrating innovative practices to deliver world-class sleep service at the Woolcock Clinic. You’ll oversee clinical operations, develop strategic partnerships, and implement best practices, all while fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.

Key Responsibilities• Develop and implement strategies to maximise sleep lab utilisation and revenue growth.• Deliver exceptional operational, scientific, and technical leadership to the sleep lab team.• Ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to NATA/AASM standards.• Manage day-to-day operations, from sleep lab scheduling to equipment maintenance.• Oversee staff training and development, ensuring a proficient and engaged workforce.• Enhance integration of research activities and collaborate with the Research Department.• Oversee the provision of adult and paediatric sleep services in alignment with accreditation and industry standards.• Monitor financial and operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Essential Criteria• A degree in a science or health-related field.• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT or equivalent).• Minimum 6 years of clinical sleep experience with expertise in polysomnography.• Proven leadership skills with experience in team development and service improvement.• Knowledge of AASM scoring guidelines and data quality standards.• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Criteria• Technical knowledge of high-density electroencephalography (EEG).• Postgraduate degree in sleep or a related field.• Experience managing a public/private sleep lab.• Membership with professional associations like ASA or ANZSSA.
