Product Designer

apartmentEducation Perfect placeMelbourne descriptionContract calendar_month
Education Perfect offers a suite of products designed to empower educators and amplify their impact in the classroom. We aim to enable teachers to personalise learning at scale with a range of powerful learning, assessment, and insights tools, helping them and their students reach their full potential.

As an EPeep, you’ll work on projects that have a real impact on students' lives and have the freedom, support and resources you need to develop your skills and grow your career.

We’re looking for someone to join our Essential Assessment (EA) team as a Product Designer for a 6-month fixed-term contract. EA is our Primary Numeracy and Literacy assessment platform loved by more than 2800+ schools across Australia.

In this role, you'll conduct user research to identify key challenges and opportunities, designing practical solutions that enhance our platform. As a strong communicator and team player, you'll collaborate closely with our Product & Engineering teams and key stakeholders to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for our customers.

If you're passionate about user-centred design and creating impactful solutions, and have a genuine interest in education, we'd love to hear from you!

What you will do
  • Advocate for the end user: Gain a deep understanding of our customers’ needs, perspectives and goals by engaging directly with our Australian educators, participating in research initiatives and conducting evaluative testing. You will use tools like personas and journey maps to align the team on customer insights
  • Design impactful solutions across the product experience: Work with key stakeholders to balance customer needs, business objectives and technical constraints. You’ll bring your expertise in user experience, interaction and visual design to create effective solutions while iterating and improving existing designs
  • Collaborate closely with engineers: Work hand-in-hand with our talented team to ensure flawless design implementation and a high-quality user experience, paying attention to every detail in order to deliver exceptional results.
About you
  • EdTech experience is highly desirable, though not a requirement - most important is a genuine interest in education
  • 3+ years of product design experience with modern cloud software (experience with Figma and Dovetail is a plus)
  • Have a valid WWCC (working with children's check) or able to obtain one
  • Strong skills in user research, using both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Experience across the full design process, including product discovery, prototyping and delivering detailed solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Skilled in data-informed decision-making, with the ability to interpret and leverage data for design decisions

Equitable opportunities, growth, and development lie at the heart of how we work at EP. We understand that not all applicants may possess all the following attributes so if you think you have what it takes, but are not sure you check every box, we would love to still hear from you!

What we offer
  • Both remote and flexible working arrangements
  • EAP with unlimited sessions
  • Employee referral program - $2000 when you refer a new team member
  • Ongoing professional development, including opportunities to develop your career into other areas of our business and access to EPs Learning Hub
  • EP support groups - Mana Wahine, DEI, Environmental Impact and Wellness Committees
  • The opportunity to work within a growing global business with Diversity Works accreditation, Carbon Net Zero BCorp status, Digital Promise certification, and an unwavering commitment to our mission, people, and community

We celebrate individuality, value diversity, and understand that flexible and remote work opportunities enable our team members to work in a way that fosters creativity and inspires individual brilliance. When you work with us, you're not just joining a company - you're joining a team united by the desire to make a difference.
