Guest Support Officer - Safer Gambling

As our Guest Support Officer reporting to the Safer Gambling Duty Manager, you will drive the implementation of safer gambling initiatives and support our valued guests in making informed decisions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students, graduates and professionals looking to join our Safe Gambling team in Brisbane on a full-time basis and contribute to fostering a safer gambling culture at The Star.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Provide empathetic support to guests experiencing challenges related to gambling
- Promote safer gambling practices through proactive communication
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance safety measures and awareness
- Conduct welfare checks as per safety gambling programmes
- Support guests who are self-excluded or have breached self-exclusion (or a Problem Gambling Exclusion) to access gambling treatment help services and/ or financial counselling
What we are looking for:
- Experience in guest relations, support services, social work, security or education
- Demonstrated ability to develop productive relationships, policies, and safer gambling strategies
- Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and show innovative thinking
- Effectively demonstrating the ability to make sound judgements and make informed decisions to mitigate risks
- Ability to identify indications of gambling issues and assisting guests in making decisions regarding their ongoing gambling safety
As a Guest Support Officer, you will drive the implementation of safer gambling initiatives and support our valued guests in making informed decisions as it related to safer gambling. The role requires availability to work across all shifts (morning, day and night).
You will draw upon your love for interaction and problem solving, along with your ability to empathise with others, to confidently assess and implement a range of suitable and timely supportive measuresYour role will be pivotal in shaping the success of our safer gambling initiative.
