As part of our continued growth, we have recently expanded our operations to include catering services for another surrounding club, further strengthening our presence in the local community and increasing our service capacity.As we continue to grow and refine our food offering, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cook to work full-time in our fast-paced kitchen. This role is suited to someone with a genuine love of food preparation, excellent time management skills, and the ability to consistently deliver quality meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and committed to maintaining high food safety standards while contributing to an efficient and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cook, you will:- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of meals across multiple food stations using a range of commercial cooking methods and equipment.
- Follow standard recipes and plating guidelines while also adapting meals to accommodate dietary requirements and special requests.
- Collaborate in menu planning and contribute to the development of daily specials and seasonal updates.
- Ensure all meals meet presentation and portioning standards before they are served.
- Supervise and assist kitchen hands with food preparation, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the kitchen in line with food safety regulations.
- Monitor food stock levels, check deliveries, and store ingredients properly while adhering to safe food handling procedures.
- Work under pressure during peak service periods while maintaining composure and professionalism.
Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this role, applicants must have:- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and 2–3 years of full-time relevant work experience in a bistro, club, or restaurant kitchen,
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery with at least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience in a bistro, club, or restaurant kitchen.
- A proven track record in a high-volume kitchen setting.
- Practical knowledge of kitchen hygiene, safe food handling, and WHS requirements.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and remain organised during busy periods.
- Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
- Full work rights in Australia (if applicable to visa holders).
