Senior Hairdresser

Heading Out Hair & Beauty, one of Australia’s most awarded salons is expanding! We are hiring Senior Hairdresser for our Fitzroy and Balwyn North salons. We are seeking an experienced full-time Senior Hairdresser to join our team.

Salary: $75,000 plus superannuation per annum

• Understanding the client’s requirements by effectively communicating with the clients
• Ensuring and maintain the cleanliness of workstations and salons
• Performing duties by following procedures and systems and adhering to health and safety regulations
• Maintaining work ethics and maintaining good customer relations at all times
• Analysing the customers hair and scalp conditions by consulting the client
• Using the right colour options by mixing colour correction remedies/techniques
• Apple permanent and semi-permanent hair colours
• Using foils and techniques for highlighting and pre-lightening hair
• Apply perm solutions and neutralization post treatments
• Rinsing and removal of processing chemicals
• Checking hair for reforming and bonds and relaxing bonds
• Full head bleach application for desired results
• Treatments for scalps and hair conditions including blow-drying and finishing hairstyle
• Providing after care services and advising on after care products
• Shampooing clients hair and preparing for cutting
• Perform various cutting techniques and styles on both men and women ie. Graduated cuts, clipper cuts, solid form, uniform layering and increased layering
• Blow-drying and finish off dressing out on clients
• Using the following equipment: Thinning scissors, cutting scissors, clips, rollers, combs, brushes, hair dryers, hair clippers, neck trimmer/towels, gowns, wraps, hair straightener, curling iron, foils, water spray bottles, neck brush, cutting capes, neck strips and razor blades.

• Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Hairdressing or overseas equivalent
• At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• At least 3 years prior experience as a Hairdresser is a must
• Hair styling ability is essential, to achieve various types of formal styles and up dos. • Competency in hair extension installation will also be highly regarded but not essential.
