As a Staff Software Engineer at me&u, you will be pivotal in driving the development and enhancement of our software products. What You'll Do- Develop and Maintain Features: Write, test, and debug code to ensure it meets high-quality standards and user requirements.
- Feature Design and Implementation: Lead the design of new features and implementation strategies, ensuring they align with business goals.
- Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, enforcing coding conventions and making actionable suggestions to improve the overall quality of the codebase.
- Collaboration and Mentorship: Collaborate with other engineering teams. Work closely with team members, including pairing and mentoring less experienced engineers to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Project Management: Independently manage tasks and features, ensuring timely and efficient delivery for yourself and less experienced team members.
What You'll Need
Technical Proficiency:- Experience with backend programming languages such as TypeScript (Node.js), C#, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with React for web application development.
- Experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Experience with observability principles in software engineering (logging, monitoring, alerting).
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Experience implementing RESTful APIs.
- Practical knowledge of basic security practices in web development.
- Ability to work on complex projects, tasks, and features.
- Ability to regularly provide technical guidance and support to team members as well as mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Willingness to take responsibility for the quality of engineering solutions, considering performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ability to create system designs, perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Experience in Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile development practices.
- Experience in a Product-Oriented Environment: Familiarity working with Product Managers, UX designers, and other key stakeholders.
- Experience with Distributed Systems: Familiarity working with distributed systems, their design and application. Including but not limited to:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks and test-driven development.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
