Clogs Pizza Restaurant, a long-standing culinary landmark in the heart of Bendigo, VIC, is seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our vibrant kitchen team. Known for its rich Italian heritage and contemporary twist on classic dishes, Clogs delivers an exceptional dining experience where pizza artistry and traditional cuisine come together.

Job Advertisement: Cook – Clogs Pizza Restaurant (Bendigo, VIC)
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of Italian dishes with a primary focus on gourmet pizzas, pasta, and antipasti. Assessing the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation.
  • Operating and regulating kitchen equipment including stone pizza ovens, grills, and fryers. Monitoring cooking processes and adjusting temperatures and timing to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Plating meals with attention to portion control, garnishing, and presentation. Catering to customers’ dietary needs by preparing gluten-free, vegetarian, or allergen-sensitive meals as required.
  • Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are strictly maintained, including appropriate food storage practices. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and storage areas.
  • Assisting in planning daily specials and estimating ingredient requirements based on bookings and foot traffic.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior kitchen staff and apprentices when needed to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Assisting with inventory checks and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely stock replenishment. Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably with a focus on Italian cuisine.
  • AQF Certificate III includes at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a relevant field.
