Accounts Payable Officer | Temporary | 4 months
The Company
Robert Half is currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Officer to join a well-established and globally recognised industry leader in Melbourne CBD on an initial 4-month temporary contract.
As Accounts Payable Officer you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy of transaction processing, whilst maintaining the tidiness of subsidiary ledgers, preparing creditor reconciliations, and the payment of outstandings in line with supplier terms and conditions.

The Role
Working within a friendly team environment you will support the Senior Accountant with the following activities:
- Receive, filter, and distribute incoming invoices
- Manage accurate and timely processing of invoices and credit notes.
- Generate weekly payments in accordance with payment terms.
- Create purchase orders and ensure management approval in a timely manner.
- Process and reconcile credit card and direct debit payments.
- Reconcile vendor statement and escalate any discrepancies.
- Perform end of period activities - calculate accruals, register prepayments
Your Profile
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum 12 months' experience in a high-volume transactional environment. You will possess an intermediate level of Excel skills (pivot tables/ V-lookups), with an aptitude to learn new finance systems quickly.
Excellent communication skills, a customer service approach, and the ability to work to deadlines is also required.
