Network Connectivity Engineer - Datacentre

This company is a well-known, high profile, and prestigious ASX-listed Financial Services organization who employ 1000+ staff across Australia.
This role is based North of the CBD near St Leonards train station + free parking is available.
Hybrid working.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Network Connectivity Engineer, you'll be working in a team to establish, provision, and ensure Network Connectivity for external customers inside the data center environment and co-locations.
This is a hands-on role involving layer 1 networking - including device installation, patching using copper/fibre cables
Responsibilities include:
- Provision of new network services then provide post implementation network support to customers.
- Configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers.
- Gateway installation and configuration.
- Technical support of network infrastructure.
- Physical datacenter field work - racking/stacking, cabling, patching etc.
- Working hours: rotating shifts between 7am to 3:30pm, 10am to 6:30pm, and 1pm
- 9:30pm Monday to Friday
- which includes hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
- Participate in a paid on-call roster and overtime (paid or time in lieu).
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES
Suitable for a Network Engineer with enterprise datacenter experience supporting critical network infrastructure.
Ideal for someone looking to join a high-profile & prestigious firm, work on complex enterprise network, with a supportive & friendly manager & team.
The following is required:
- Network Support/Engineer background with hands-on data center experience (racking, stacking, cabling, fibre patching, network device installation/configuration) is essential.
- Layer 1 network troubleshooting experience.
- Competent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP
- Transmission networks exp (CWDM/DWDM) is beneficial.
- Linux command line exp.
- Background interacting with external customers.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn.
- Positive, hardworking, and driven personality.
- Experience inside a Telco or Managed Service Provider is beneficial.
- Comfortable with (paid) overtime when required.
- CCNA and/or CCNP is beneficial.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency is essential.
