Beanstalk is a leading ventures and advisory firm dedicated to driving profitable and sustainable agrifood systems. Bold founders and innovative agribusinesses turn to us for insights, capital and connections. In an uncertain world, we work together to harness technology and meet the challenges of the future.

We are a specialised team of agrifood strategy, innovation and commercialisation experts working across the Indo-Pacific. Everything we do directly drives long term community, ecological and business resiliency. Our 5 pillars of impact are:

  • Building enterprise resiliency
  • advancing circularity
  • Enabling a ‘nature positive’ food system
  • Promoting safe and secure livelihood.
  • Ensuring food and nutrition security

About the role

We're on the lookout for a high-performing, entrepreneurial, and impact-driven individual to join our team in a part time capacity.

This is not your average role — it’s a chance to work at the intersection of innovation, agriculture, sustainability, and venture building. You’ll be engaging with a cross-section of the agrifood ecosystem — from startups and investors to government and global agribusinesses — all while shaping work that matters.

As a Business Analyst, you will be working within a team to deliver agrifood innovation projects across Australia and Indo-Pacific region. The role provides critical leverage & support to our project teams and venture studio; driving project quality through sharp analysis and communications; driving efficiency through setting up and maintaining project management processes.

Requirements
  • Conduct desk research and light-touch sector analysis to support client delivery efforts in client advisory and venture building settings—whether investigating emerging trends in climate-smart agtech, conducting competitive analysis of soil agronomy IoT & AI solution providers, or conducting a stakeholder landscape assessment in Southeast Asia.
  • Support project execution by helping build decks, summarising findings, and preparing notes, briefs, and synthesis documents across a range of innovation and advisory projects.
  • Assist in venture studio operations, such as early-stage scouting, pipeline research, ecosystem mapping, or helping develop basic value propositions or business models.
  • Join team meetings, workshops, and client calls, contributing to a collaborative team culture and sharpening your understanding of how innovation consulting works in real-time.
  • Support internal initiatives that help Beanstalk grow—this could include social impact, people & culture, or storytelling.
  • Contribute to operational excellence by keeping shared resources tidy and tracking project progress where needed.

Bring curiosity and care—ask great questions, offer thoughtful feedback, and be a generous team member.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s or in final year of an undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, agriculture, environmental science, international development, economics, or public policy).
  • Strong research, synthesis and writing skills, with the ability to turn complex or technical information into clear insights and crisp slides.
  • Comfortable with numbers and structure, whether that’s basic data analysis in Excel or building logic in a desk-based market scan.
  • Curious about innovation, agtech, climate, and food systems—you don't need deep experience, but you should be keen to learn.
  • A proactive and self-starting attitude—you’re not afraid to ask questions, try things, or help move a project forward even when it’s unfamiliar.
  • Experience working in teams, whether through previous internships, group projects, or part-time work—you value being a good teammate.
  • A thoughtful communicator, with strong written and verbal skills, and a respectful approach to working across diverse perspectives and cultures.
  • Excited by Beanstalk’s vision & mission and keen to grow your experience at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and impact.
Benefits
  • Competitive renumeration
  • Work from home, or anywhere else you feel at home
  • Work across Australia and Southeast Asia — from boardrooms to farm fields
  • Be part of a collaborative, ambitious, and values-driven team
  • Focus on big-picture impact: supporting resilient, sustainable food systems
  • Grow fast — with real ownership and career development opportunities
