Are you a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to expand your expertise and make a greater impact? We’re seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in a dynamic role that combines face-to-face therapy, community-based work, and mentorship opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Therapy & Treatment-Conduct face-to-face therapy sessions or telehealth when required.
- Plan and deliver individualized therapy sessions tailored to client needs.
- Administer assessments, including Sensory Profiles, Assistive Technology, Functional Capacity, Housing (SIL, SDA, ILO), and Home Modifications.
- Mobilize and manipulate muscles and joints, providing treatment using OT and rehabilitation equipment.
- Develop and adjust treatment plans based on medical diagnoses and patient progress.
- Guide patients through exercises to strengthen and enhance motor abilities.
- Maintain thorough documentation of therapy sessions, phone calls, meetings, and treatment outcomes.
- Complete detailed reports for assessments and recommendations.
-Create take-home resources for participants and their informal supports to extend therapy benefits beyond sessions.
Collaboration & Coordination- Participate in team meetings internally and with external care teams for participant support.
- Engage in care coordination, case management, and transition services, including discharge planning and client advocacy.
Community-Based Services
-Conduct community-based work, including home visits, and support a diverse range of clients across all ages and conditions.- Use natural contexts such as home, school, work, or community settings for assessment and intervention.
- Assess, customize, and oversee equipment provision, including orthotic and prosthetic devices.
- Provide driver rehabilitation and community mobility support.
- Apply therapeutic techniques like wound care management and sensory or cognitive processing enhancements.
- Modify environments (home, school, work) using ergonomic principles to improve accessibility and functionality.
- Supervise Allied Health Assistant (AHA) students and mentor new graduate OTs.
- Offer observation opportunities and act as a buddy for new graduates.
- Independently complete assistive technology (AT) assessments and reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) training and workshops.
- Build expertise in specific clinical areas and grow into a specialized focus.
