Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Pressure Welder - Heavy IndustriesKey Responsibilities:
Pressure Welding:
Perform high-quality pressure welding on pipes, vessels, and structural components, ensuring all welds meet stringent safety and quality standards.
Safety and Quality Assurance:
Operate welding equipment and related tools safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards. Ensure that all welding tasks meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications
Blueprint & Work Instruction Adherence: Follow blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions meticulously to ensure the accuracy and precision of all tasks.Inspection and Repair:
Conduct thorough inspections of work to identify defects. When necessary, perform repairs or rework to ensure that all components meet the highest quality standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering and inspection teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and that all projects are completed according to project specifications.
Tasks:Cutting: Cut marked metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines.
Shaping and Bending: Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using both hand and machine tools, including heating and hammering as required.
Alignment: Align parts for joining using hand tools and measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy in preparation for welding.
Joining:
Join metal sections using a variety of techniques, including welding, bolting, and riveting, ensuring the highest quality and structural integrity.
Weld Inspection:
Examine welds for bead width, penetration, and overall accuracy, ensuring compliance with specified standards and tolerances.
Core Skills:
Experience in Welding:
Candidates must have extensive experience (5+ years) in welding techniques, particularly for pressure vessels and high-pressure piping systems and in a similar environment. Ideal candidates will have a background in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, or power generation, where pressure welding is a core requirement.
Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and ARC Welding:
A strong command of TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and ARC welding is essential. The ability to seamlessly switch between these welding methods based on project needs is crucial for success in this role.
Reading and Interpreting Blueprints & Welding Symbols:
Candidates must be proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to ensure welding tasks are completed to precise design specifications.
Knowledge of AS/NZS Welding Standards and Codes:
A deep understanding of the Australian and New Zealand welding standards (AS/NZS) is critical, ensuring all tasks meet industry norms and regulatory compliance.
Welding Proficiency (Pressure Welding):
Expertise in welding under high-pressure conditions is required, with an emphasis on compliance with safety and regulatory standards in the welding process.
