Boilermaker/Welder

Responsibilities

• Reviewing technical documents such as blueprints and plans to assess the project requirements, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the materials and processes necessary to execute the task successfully.
• Preparing metal materials by selecting, cleansing, and conditioning the stock, ensuring that they are properly treated and free of contaminants before being processed.
• Using specialized tools and equipment to cut metal pieces according to pre-determined shapes and measurements, including the use of hand tools, flame torches, and cutting machines to achieve precise dimensions.
• Shaping and manipulating metal components and pipes by using both manual and mechanical tools, as well as applying heat and force through techniques like hammering to meet the desired specifications.
• Positioning and aligning metal parts that need to be connected, carefully measuring and adjusting their placement with appropriate instruments to ensure accurate assembly.
• Employing various welding methods along with bolts or rivets to securely attach metal sections, creating strong joints that comply with the structural requirements of the project.
• Inspecting the quality of welds, evaluating aspects such as the depth of the penetration, the smoothness of the bead, and overall precision to verify that the welds meet high standards of craftsmanship.
• Polishing and refining the final product, removing imperfections and thoroughly cleaning the surface to ensure the finished piece is polished and up to aesthetic and functional standards.

• 2 to 3 years of experience in Welding, production and manufacturing area.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering
• Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade
• Certificate IV in Engineering
• Solid work ethic
• Ability to adapt
