THE ROLE
At St Clair Recreation Centre, we are dedicated to promoting health and wellness within our community. Our state-of-the-art facilities and diverse programs offer a welcoming environment for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Health and Fitness Director to lead our team and inspire our members to achieve their health goals.
As the Health and Fitness Director, you will be the driving force behind our physical activity initiatives, enhancing the physical, mental, and social well-being of our community by increasing participation in our programs. You will provide leadership and direction to staff in the health and fitness, and group fitness areas.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can foster a dynamic and enjoyable work environment that encourages teamwork and goal-oriented performance, and that demonstrates the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a larger team.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and fitness programs that meet the needs of our diverse community.
- Monitor the performance of the health club, group fitness and personal training programs to achieve performance targets.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to health and wellness initiatives.
- Improve physical, mental and social wellbeing by increasing the number of people participating in our health and fitness programs and services.
- Manage the fitness staff, including hiring, training/development, and interventions/performance evaluations.
- Organize budget and resources effectively, ensuring financial sustainability of programs.
- Oversee bookings and user agreements and monthly invoicing for areas of responsibility.
This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 38 hours per week.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- Cert III & IV in Fitness
- (HLTAID003) Provide First Aid or equivalent
- (HLTAID001) Provide CPR or equivalent
- Certificate of completion for “Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect” (RRHAN-EC) training
- Professional Registration with a governing body, i.e. AUSActive
- Excellent interpersonal skills and highly developed communication skills
- Proven capability to build strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders
Desirable Qualifications and Licences:
- Strength for Life (COTA)
- Nationally recognised Pilates Qualification (mat or reformer level)
