The venue is seeking qualified Chefs to bring their passion and creativity to the kitchen at Surveyor Trading Inn. You’ll be part of a team that is dedicated to providing a memorable dining experience. With a competitive salary range of 70K–80K per annum, based on experience, you’ll have the chance to hone your skills while contributing to the legacy of a historic and respected establishment.
Scope of the Work:- Lead the team to facilitate the smooth operation of the kitchen in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in the establishment and upkeep of protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to uphold the consistent delivery of top-tier dishes.
- Estimate and conduct precise monthly inventories of food supplies.
- Aid in the oversight of food expenses and waste management.
- Analyse recipes to assign menu item prices based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
- Supervise and maintain adherence to food safety and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure the timely delivery of services.
- Execute menu items consistently to standard, ensuring quality, portion control, and timely preparation in line with kitchen expectations.
- Supervise cooks and assist Head Chefs in preparing food and helping other team members when needed.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
- Train junior staff to uphold the standard of the venue and maintain operational efficiency.
- Regularly demonstrate innovative cooking techniques and the use of modern kitchen equipment to staff, while keeping them informed of ongoing culinary trends and continuous improvements.
- Be willing to relocate if you are interstate or in other cities.
- Preferably have Certificates III & IV in Commercial Cookery
- Be available on both days at weekends and be able to work split shifts.
- Have at least 2- 3 years of work experience as a Cook/Chef.
- Ability to work in a team.
