The Software Engineering Manager will lead the software development team to deliver high-quality solutions. This role is responsible for setting the technical direction, balancing speed and quality, and aligning team efforts with the organization's objectives.
You'll collaborate closely with the Head of Product to translate product strategies into practical engineering solutions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Guide the development and delivery of the company's software products, ensuring alignment with business goals. Offer technical leadership and strategic direction throughout the product lifecycle.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing engineering team. Encourage collaboration and innovation, oversee team performance, and manage hiring and resource distribution.
- Architecture and Innovation: Design and implement reliable architectural solutions. Stay current with industry trends to drive innovation and ensure the technology stack remains competitive.
- Project Management: Plan, oversee, and ensure the timely and budget-friendly delivery of projects, maintaining quality. Work closely with the Head of Product to align feature roadmaps and deliverables.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product owners and business leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Process Optimization: Promote the adoption of agile practices and foster continuous improvement in the engineering process. Enhance and streamline CI/CD practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Technical Knowledge: Broad experience in software development and architectural design.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams, with strong mentoring and management skills.
- Project Execution: Experience in guiding large-scale projects to successful completion, with strong planning and execution abilities.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
- Agile Practices: Expertise in Agile methodologies and managing iterative development processes.
Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience in an engineering management or similar leadership position.
- Strong background in leading engineering teams and fostering a culture of high performance.
- Expertise in evaluating and implementing software development best practices and architectural solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
