The Group finance team is made up of high performing, big 4 trained accountants.
About The Role
A broad range of primary objectives including providing critical support in the implementation of a new Group ERP system, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, assisting with other system implementations, and ad-hoc projects to support strategic goals and operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- · Support the Senior Project Manager, ERP in the implementation of a new Group ERP system;
- Support the assessment and evaluation of ERP solutions submitted by potential vendors;
- Act as finance lead for the implementation of a new ERP system
- Work with project managers, procurement teams, IT, and external vendors to ensure alignment between financial system functionalities and project requirements
- Lead the development of an effective and streamlined chart of accounts to facilitate accurate, compliant and insightful financial reporting;
- Lead the data migration from existing accounting software to the new ERP;
- Lead UAT testing for finance team to ensure ERP system functions as required;
- Lead and develop user training materials for the new ERP system;
- Establish and develop a process to accurately record and report segment information as required by IFRS8;
- Lead the development and implementation of improved internal management reporting;
- Develop a methodology for quarterly cost allocations for management reporting purposes;
- Assist in the transition of the function currency to USD, including the translation of historical balances;
- Liaise with external accounting advisors to ensure processes in place to accurately record subsequent transactions in the functional currency;
- Ensure continued successful transition to new employee share system;
- Develop and implement a process to ensure efficient, compliant and accurate maintenance of share system for employees globally;
- Ensure the accurate reporting of actuals against budget and forecast;
- Prepare site and corporate reports including analysis and commentary of variances to budget;
- Assist the finance team with the development and implementation of process improvements and systems enhancement initiatives;
Liaise with Senior Manager IT and other finance team members to ensure SOX compliant procedures are performed for all finance systems
Skills / Experience required:
The ideal candidate is a big 4 first or second mover who has audited ASX listed businesses
Demonstrated project management experience;'- Excellent knowledge of IFRS and application of accounting standards;
- Bachelor of Accounting or Commerce from an accredited university or college;
- Minimum of 6 years of Professional Accounting Firm experience with CA accreditation (or comparable);
- Experience with implementation of new systems is essential;
- Experience with preparation of budgets is essential;
- Experience working with listed organisations is highly desirable;
- Organisational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills, working with various internal and external stakeholders;
- High attention to detail;
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively under tight deadlines, be independent and work in a collaborative group-oriented environment with the help of sound judgement in decision-making processes;
- Experience in assessing the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of internal controls;
- Ability to work in a structured and documented way, and proactively assess and reduce risk;
- Experience with Xero, Spotlight, Accurri, Workiva finance cloud-based platforms is an advantage but not essential;
