The Client
Electrical Masters – AU is a fast growing company in the Solar industry in Australia. They have installed more than 1500 domestic and commercial projects from 6.6 KW to 50 KW.
Due to their rapid success, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer experienced in the solar industry to join their team in Melbourne.
The Role
It is for a full-time role with an annual salary of $90,000 + Superannuation and will be based at their workplace in Clyde North, VIC.
Responsibilities
Design of solar grid connection application
Commissioning, diagnostic and troubleshooting of OEM automation and technology system
Off-site programming & on-site commissioning of automated systems
Develop concept designs and initial estimations to address customer needs
Design of DC/AC electrical systems, including PV module string design, cable selection, inverter input analysis and selection of protection devices
Contribute to the interpretation of engineering designs from design calculations, drawings, specifications, and control systems to application standards and equipment regulation on time, cost effectively and fit for purpose for the project and business requirements
Preparing comprehensive documentation, including technical reports and test plans
Communication with project management team, electricians, and external engineering consultants
Provide the sites with engineering troubleshooting support either directly or by coordinating the input of engineering specialists
Complete site surveys to verify electrical infrastructure and installation plans
Train and supervise subordinates and technicians closely
Requirements
At least a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering related discipline
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in a corporate setting, with a focus on the solar industry.
At least 2 years’ experience with power electronics, including inverters, converters, and battery storage systems
At least 2 years working with of solar photovoltaic (PV) system design and installation standards
At least 2 years proficiency in using industry-specific software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and ETAP
Familiarity with electrical codes and standards, such as AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 5033.
Expertise with Microsoft Excel and various data analysis and energy model tools
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with frequent deadlines and deliverables on multiple concurrent projects
Strong communication, attention to details and organisational skills
Possess critical and analytical thinking skills.
