The RoleAn opportunity has become available for an Assistant Director (Research) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide authoritative and timely advice to the Senior Director Research and other stakeholders in relation to research management and development, education and training, ethics and governance, finance, and policy development of research initiatives
- Work collaboratively with clinical and operational leadership, building strategic relationships to improve research sustainability and culture within research hubs
- Oversee all clinical trial operations conducted by the Research unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality services for clinical trials
- Oversee complex clinical trial budgets for the Clinical Trials Unit, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Qualifications - as per attached Role Description
- AHPRA Registration (if applicable)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $156 836 - $162 346 per annum

The Strategy, Transformation, Research, Infrastructure, Digital + excellence (STRIDe) Division has been established to bring together several vital functions that collectively define, design, and enhance the delivery and sustainability of our most significant service improvement and digital transformation opportunities.
The Research unit provides a focal point for research, including clinical trials, and supports a diverse range of research program across the Gold Coast. The unit works in close collaboration with GCHHS workforce and external stakeholders, including Bond University, Griffith University, and Southern Cross University, as well as national and international institutions.The unit supports GCHHS staff to undertake high-quality research through providing research governance, compliance, and development opportunities that build research capabilities across the organisation.
