About the role
An opportunity is now available for a reliable and enthusiastic person willing to provide great service to our expanding customer base, delivering from one of our modern fleet of trucks.
Role and Responsibilities:- Operate a truck or delivery vehicle safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport goods to and from specified locations according to schedule.
- Inspect and verify goods before departure and upon arrival.
- Perform routine pre-start checks and maintenance on the truck, including oil changes, tire checks, and brake inspections.
- Report any mechanical issues or vehicle malfunctions to the managers.
- Keep the vehicle clean and ensure it is in good working order.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety of oneself, other road users, and the goods.
- Comply with federal and state regulations, including those related to hazardous materials if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with customers, handling any issues or concerns professionally.
- Ensure proper handling of goods to prevent damage and provide excellent service.
- Complete and submit all necessary documents, including proof of delivery, inspection reports, and incident reports.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods.
- Collaborate with dispatchers and other team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Minimum qualification of year 12 in Australia or Overseas
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must have 2 years’ experience of driving in Australia/Overseas
- Valid driver license with a clean driving record.
- Strong driving skills and knowledge of road safety regulations.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including loading and unloading goods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Prolonged periods of sitting while driving.
- Occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions.
- Primarily on the road, may also including loading dock and customer places.
- May involve irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
