Job Description
As Project Engineer, you'll take charge of delivering site-based projects that improve capacity, efficiency, and reliability. You'll work alongside operations, maintenance, and external partners to bring engineering projects to life - from early planning right through to commissioning and handover.Your focus will span multiple manufacturing locations, supporting both capital investments and technical problem-solving to keep production running smoothly
- Lead end-to-end delivery of capital projects, ensuring safe, on-time, and within-budget completion
- Coordinate across engineering, procurement, operations, and maintenance teams to align project goals
- Develop detailed project plans, technical specifications, drawings, and scopes of work
- Manage contractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure effective execution and quality outcomes
- Support asset management by integrating new equipment and upgrades seamlessly into operations
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Reliability teams on CAPEX projects and technical solutions
- Troubleshoot production challenges and deliver sustainable, long-term engineering fixes
- Champion best practices in safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship across all projects
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimise waste
- Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to senior engineering and operational leader
The Successful Applicant
The successful FMCG Project Engineer must have the following skills:
- Engineering Degree
- Experience delivering projects in manufacturing environments
- FMCG exposure - especially in food & beverage
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Strong technical acumen combined with a practical, hands-on mindset
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, from shop floor teams to senior management
