Job Description
The Electronics Engineer will have the following 3 macro areas of responsibility:
Electronics/Electrical Engineering- Electrical and electronic design activities for machine mounted electronics systems, including sensor selection, cabling design, protection, requirements specification, etc.
- Technical implementation of in-sourced electronic design, firmware and software development.
- Implementation of appropriate engineering and manufacturing documentation including component life cycle management pertaining to the product engineering.
- Provide escalated technical support for the embedded solutions as required.
- Implementation of the electronics compliance requirements, including certifications and standards necessary for jurisdictions the products operate in.
- Coordinate implementation of outsourced aspects of the development, including compliance testing, accelerated life testing, IP testing etc.
- Testing and coordination of testing for in house testing and validation activities.
- Reporting on testing outcomes.
- Establish and provide technical oversight of outsourced manufacturing and QA processes for all electronic developments.
- Component selection and technical aspects of establishment of supply chains for electronic products.
- Provide advice and support to Supply Chain and Operations for management of ERP inventory requirements for products / components.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Electronics Engineer should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electronics design and development of embedded systems.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in similar roles preferably gained in the Mining Equipment sector.
- Experience with Altium design software.
- RF Device and principals experience.
- Power supply design and testing experience.
- Low power design for Battery operated devices.
- Embedded communications protocols: IIC, SPI, CAN.
- Switch/router design for networking Protocols: TCP/IP , Lora, SimpleLink.
