SOUTH SYDNEY HOSPITALITY GROUP PTY LTD Trading as Taja Brasserie Moss Vale currently seeking a qualified and experienced Demi Chef to join our team at Taja Brasserie, located at Yarrawa Street and Argyle Street , Moss Vale NSW 2577 . As a member of our five star culinary team, you will work in several different areas of the kitchen, including a la carte, buffet, cold larder, mise-en-place and banquets.

Duties Responsibilities:
- Ensuring efficient and timely service, working closely with the front-of-house team
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with food safety regulations
- As a Demi Chef, you’ll assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in running a section of the kitchen.
- You’ll play an important role in ensuring food quality, preparation, and presentation meet our established standards.
- Prepare and cook meals for lunch, dinner, and event service, following our recipes and presentation standards
- Support junior staff and cooks with basic training and guidance
- Collaborating seamlessly with the kitchen leadership team to uphold the highest standards of culinary excellence, ensuring the consistency and quality of every dish served.
- Communicate clearly during service, especially regarding timing, stock levels, and food-safety concerns.
- Strictly adhering to the establishment's rigorous hygiene protocols, while actively contributing to the meticulous maintenance of hygiene records and practices.
- Overseeing the meticulous management of stock levels, ensuring all preparation requirements are met, and proactively communicating with the management team regarding inventory and ordering needs.
- Ensure correct storage and rotation of ingredients (FIFO/FEFO)
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management or
- Minimum 1 Year Relevant Work Experience
- Proven experience in a similar role (club, bistro, or restaurant setting preferred).
- Sound understanding of food handling and kitchen safety regulations.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Availability to work across varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Salary Offered : $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
