This RTO specialises in disability care, early childhood education and aged care.

About the Role

Due to recent government funding cuts, this small RTO is undergoing significant organisational changes and requires assistance in managing their redundancy process.

Duties

Some of the responsibilities will involve:

  • Preparation - Establish a clear timeline and ensure all relevant documentation is properly prepared.
  • Selection - Identify the group of employees under consideration for redundancy and establish fair, objective, and consistent selection criteria.
  • Individual Consultation - Adhere to legal consultation timeframes, which vary depending on the number of employees affected.
  • Notice of Redundancy and Appeals - Provide employees with written confirmation of their dismissal due to redundancy and inform them of their right to appeal the decision.
  • Termination Process - For employees with over two years of service, ensure they receive a statutory redundancy payment. Provide a written breakdown of how the payment has been calculated to maintain transparency.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous HR experience, specialising in redundancies.
  • Experience within Employee relations space.
  • Sound knowledge of Victorian employee law and legislation.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong people skills and empathy.
