The Role
Responsible for developing the architecture for major (cross-domain) programs/ projects and ensuring programs/projects are initiated and aligned to the IT and business strategies with a focus on Cloud and Infrastructure Security.
Key Responsibilities
Solution architecture delivery:
Develop, maintain and communicate high level plans for investing in the IT environment, for a single domain to ensure effective Architecture strategy is developed and maintained within a domain Accountable for the establishment, maintenance and execution of best practice Domain architecture development and governance processes to promote effective governance and solution quality within Architecture Contribute to the development, maintenance and application of architecture policies, standards and guidelines to ensure effective Architecture and Design policies, standards and guidelines are developed and adhered to Lead the development of complex solutions to ensure effective solutions are designed in accordance with business requirements, Woolworths standards and IT Strategy Facilitating high quality, timely IT estimates for solutions and roadmaps to ensure effective IT estimation of technology solutions
Continuous improvement and Innovation:
Investigate and recommend improvement opportunities to drive continuous improvement and ensure Woolworths remains innovative and up to date with market leading technologies and industry trends
Stakeholder engagement and vendor management:
Develop and grow relationships with key stakeholders including Heads of Business Unit and Technology General Managers to ensure appropriate stakeholders are effectively engaged in the formulation of Architecture direction Provide technology advice and guidance to Business Unit Heads and Technology General Managers within a single domain to assist the business in the formulation of business strategy and technology investment decisions
Teamwork and self development:
Participate in team meetings and training to maintain, refresh and establish new skills Coach, develop and grow solution architects, including providing mentoring and coaching, etc. to support the architecture people development.
Experience:
5 - 10 years experience within the IT Industry/retail services or in technology consulting 5+ years experience across multiple Architecture domains 5+ experience in delivering a major business solutions within a project team Extensive hands-on experience with network security capabilities - Firewalls, network detection & response & secure web gateways 5+ experience in securing cloud solutions and resources (SaaS, IaaS & PaaS) Strong understanding of SIEM solutions, from a architectural and operational perspective Strong understanding of latest generation of network technologies, e.g. Network Virtualization, Software De ne Networks (e.gCisco Nexus, Cisco ACI, SD-Access, SD-WAN, others), Sound understanding of threat modelling & risks assessments Experience in enhancing security capabilities by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing these improvements Exposure in working within an Agile environment.
