Company:

Our client is a leading not-for-profit organization with a proud history of delivering essential services that make a difference in the community. With operations spanning multiple regions and employing a diverse workforce, the organization is dedicated to creating a positive impact through care, innovation, and excellence.

Its collaborative and values-driven culture ensures a supportive environment for its employees, fostering growth and development.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Audit Specialist, Accountant, Finance Specialist, or Payroll Specialist to join a high-impact payroll remediation project. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this critical role will involve validating payroll entitlements for approximately 1200 employees over the past six years, addressing the complexities of evolving Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) and rule changes.

Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy of data models, reconciling discrepancies, and resolving unique payroll scenarios. This includes managing cases involving role transitions (e.g., casual to permanent), night shift adjustments, and other nuanced scenarios.

Ultimately, your work will help prepare the organization for a successful external payroll audit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate payroll data against modeled entitlements and ensure consistency in applying a unified rule set.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll data.
  • Address complex scenarios, such as employment type changes and varying shifts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance payroll processes and compliance.
  • Prepare accurate reports and ensure audit readiness.

About You:

We welcome candidates from varied professional backgrounds who bring relevant experience and a drive for excellence. To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A detail-oriented mindset and a natural curiosity to dig deeper into problems.
  • The ability to think conceptually, question inconsistencies, and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with a process-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate findings and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and resilience to manage intricate, repetitive work.
  • A background in payroll, accounting, finance, or audit, with experience in managing data-heavy projects.

Additional Details:

  • Start Date: First or second week of January.
  • Duration: 3-4 months, with the possibility of extension.
  • Location: Flexible, with potential for remote work options.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization while tackling a complex and meaningful project. If you thrive on solving challenging problems and delivering impactful results, this role is for you.
