The Role:

We’re hiring not just any Product Manager role. This is an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of digital identity technology, working with some of the biggest organisations in the game, to do something genuinely ground-breaking.

You’ll be working with some of the leading minds in identity in Australia, and alongside a crack team of technologists and designers.

ConnectID aims to maximise coverage of identity data in the network, enhancing customer choice. The Product Manager, Mobile Driver License and Verifiable Credentials (mDL and VCs) will work across the ecosystem to expand the range of credentials available, working at both a business and technical level, and managing a vast range of stakeholders.

You will bring a versatile skillset which is comfortable across business, commercial and governance conversations, while also understanding foundational technical aspects. You will have the stakeholder management aptitude to drive large, complex changes.

However, you will not be a VC “purist”. You will bring a very strong understanding of this model, coupled with a pragmatic view focused on interoperability, which will enable VCs to be enabled for customer choice alongside other forms of digital identity.

Day to day, you can expect to:

  • Work with the technical experts to advance technical interoperability and how this translates into practical use.
  • Develop a commercial & liability framework that creates a balanced market with incentives for all to participate.
  • Develop business rules and product requirements which can be articulated to potential participants in the network.
  • Working with Business Development to validate demand for particular credentials and use cases.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand member/customer needs, market trends, and competitor offerings, informing product decisions.
  • Engaging with potential issuers to encourage participation in the network.
  • Being the go-to contact point for development of VC and MDL capability within AP+ and externally.
  • Define requirements for internal changes to be implemented to accommodate the new model.
  • Work with the relevant internal teams to identify and advocate for changes to ConnectID rules.
  • Identifying and engaging with the right partners to operate within the ConnectID network.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Product Manager ideally on an identify product.
  • To have specialist experience working in digital identity, and specifically MDLs or Verifiable Credentials in a real-world capacity, focused on product management including and business and commercial considerations.
  • Ability to balance awareness of technical aspects with product rules, governance and commercial considerations, and to identify and execute necessary changes via engagement with other teams.
