We are currently on the hunt for a Restaurant General Manager for KFC Burwood.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Responsible for execution of the WHS System. Ensure they are, and employees under their control, are observing safe work practices, safety procedures and that any hazardous situations are rendered safe. Ensuring all incidents are reported to WHS Officer.
  • Manage the restaurant in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures, to Brand Standard.
  • Ensure that controls and procedures are implemented on each shift to protect the security of employees and company funds.
  • Direct the activities of employees to maximize sales, operating efficiency, and profit, including determining product mix, maintaining stock levels, implementing purchasing and marketing policies and pricing.
  • Allocate responsibilities to each employee on shift and monitor performance accordingly. Ensure tasks are only undertaken by those employees certified to perform them.
  • Promote the Company’s goods and services by implementing customer service standards within the restaurant. Ensure the whole restaurant team is focused on exceeding customer expectations for Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product Quality and Speed of Service.
  • Implement the recruitment and selection process of employees within the restaurant.
  • Implement restaurant training programs for Assistant Restaurant Managers, Shift Supervisors, and Team Members, to enable them to maximize performance, meet the standards, and realize their career potential. Monitor performance and implement corrective action where required.
  • Ensure that employees follow correct maintenance procedures in accordance with the established maintenance roster and advise the Restaurant General Manager of any repairs or maintenance required within the restaurant.
  • Report to the Area Coach any aspect of employee relations/performance.
  • Report to the Area Coach any aspect of customer service, attendance of and/or inspections by third parties that have or are likely to affect the operation of the restaurant.
  • Keep the Area Coach informed of any competitive activity that is likely to affect the trading results of the restaurant.
  • Promote the Company values, acting as a role model and always providing leadership.
  • Monitor and coordinate the charge areas of the Assistant Restaurant Managers; ensuring Customer, Profit, Labour, Sales, Operations and People targets are met.

Decision Making Authority:

Primary responsibility for the restaurant operation.
  • Hiring, managing, and terminating in accordance with Company Policy.
  • Approval of expenditure within the established guidelines.
  • High School Certificate (HSC or equivalent) - essential. Tertiary Qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years multi outlet retail or service industry experience at a supervisory level (external candidates); 1 year for internal candidates.
  • Proven track record of On Target performance in Balanced Scorecard KPIs (or equivalent) with primary profit responsibility essential.
  • First Aid Certified: Apply First Aid – essential.
  • Ability to engage, lead and motivate all restaurant employees to deliver KPI Targets.
