Senior Tax Adviser
About Our Client
Our client is a large organisation that operates within the Energy & Natural Resources industry. They have an established presence in the market, with operations that span across Australia. They take pride in their rigorous commitment to the environment and safety standards.They are currently in need of additional resourcing within their Tax team from mid May 2025 through to early November 2025, and are seeking an appropriately experienced contractor available 5 days a week during this period.
Job Description
The work would be largely income tax compliance and reporting-focused.Refer details below:* Preparation of income tax returns for allocated entities in Australia, Singapore, PNG and/or New Zealand- Perform half year tax effect accounting calculations for allocated entities
- Support transition of tax reporting processes as part of implementation of new global financial consolidation & reporting system
- Assist with responses to tax authority queries
- Provide tax input into business financial planning processes
- Support upcoming internal tax audit of team's adherence to internal tax governance framework
- Support other tax obligations in relation to PAYG, WHT, consolidation, franking and dividend payments as required
- Ad hoc assistance with income tax advice and supporting work papers for transactions/projects as required
- Supporting various ongoing process improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for someone with at least 3-5 years previous experience (ideally in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm or large corporate) and knowledge of tax effect accounting and tax compliance & reporting in particular.The team focus on Australia, Singapore, PNG and New Zealand - therefore experience with tax in one or more of these jurisdictions is preferable though not essential.Good problem solving skills, written and oral communication skills and organisational skills (meeting deadlines, ability to prioritise etc) are also important, plus experience using financial and tax systems.
