Financial Accountant - Brisbane
Your opportunity:
You'll be joining a business that will provide you with 2-days WFH, flexible start/finish, a great culture, and they're located within 5 minutes' walk from Central Station. You'll work with an experienced Financial Controller who is ready to provide you with any help that you need.
You will join a NFP organisation on a 6-month contract which has strong potential to extend given how successful this business is. This is a newly created position to support the finance team during a period of increased workload. You will play a key role in assisting with month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and other core accounting tasks.
Your duties:
This is a position that will provide you with a variety of responsibilities and you can expect to be hands-on with:
- Performing month-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation for external audits
- Contributing to month-end variance analysis and project reporting
- Participating in cross-functional project work as needed
About You
You are a fully qualified accountant who is a self-motivated and highly organised professional with a solid understanding of financial accounting principles. You thrive in busy environments and enjoy collaborating with others to deliver accurate and timely financial outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience- CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a large and complex organisation
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Desirable: Experience with FBT in a non-rebatable employer or NFP setting
