Farm Workers
Rocky Ponds Produce requires 15 farmhand workers to perform field and packing shed work on a horticulture farm located near Gumlu, in North Queensland.
The day-to-day duties may include:Field work – such as picking & sorting of capsicums, melons and pumpkins, assisting to lay plastic mulch and prepare irrigation, seeding and planting and other forms of crop establishment and maintenance.
Shed Work - such as packing capsicums, melons and pumpkins, sorting, stacking and other related shed activities.
You will be required to use tools and equipment such as picking and irrigation equipment appropriate to the position, work in a team with others, and have the ability to work quickly and with accuracy.
The work is physical, outdoors and you may be required to work in a range of weather conditions.
You will be employed on a (full-time) basis under the terms and conditions of the (Horticulture Award 2020) and receive a minimum of 152 hours over a 4 week period.
The work is usually performed between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday to Saturday and may also be required to work Sundays and public holidays.
Work is expected to commence in June 2025 and be available for a period of 4 years.
No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to learn and acquire additional skills during their employment.
It is desirable that applicants have or are eligible to obtain drivers licence and forklift licence.
