Position Criteria:
The company seeks skilled and experienced Motor Mechanics with a minimum of three years post-trade experience. In this role, you will:
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and assess mechanical issues across a variety of vehicles.
- Perform essential repairs and maintenance, including engine overhauls, brake repairs, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Operate diagnostic equipment to identify complex automotive problems and propose effective solutions.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and industry standards to maintain high service quality.
- Keep precise records of all service and repair activities for reference and accountability.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in automotive technology.
- Provide clear communication and excellent customer service by explaining repair processes to clients.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with service advisors and other technicians to streamline operations and meet deadlines.
- Participate in ongoing training programs and professional development to enhance your skills and technical expertise.
- Support the training and mentorship of junior technicians and apprentices.
- Assist manufacturers in resolving vehicle-specific issues when needed.
- Engage with the service advisors and parts department to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Relevant Trade qualifications; Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
- Experience in any of the listed vehicle brands is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time efficiently.
- A proactive learning attitude and a willingness to face challenges head-on.
- Workshop experience in identifying and resolving engine and electrical faults is preferred but not essential.
