Position: ChefLocation: Landsborough QLD
Key Responsibilities- Manage preparation for both dine-in and takeaway services, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Innovate new recipes and improve existing dishes, focusing on flavour authenticity and presentation.
- Ensure that dietary requirements and allergen information are considered in all food preparations.
- Maintain inventory levels, monitor usage, and coordinate timely procurement of fresh ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Oversee the storage and preservation of ingredients, including correct refrigeration, freezing, and rotation practices.
- Train new team members in cooking methods, portion control, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Enforce food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with Queensland Health regulations.
- Collaborate with the restaurant manager and front-of-house staff to address customer feedback and improve service delivery.
- Lead food preparation processes and ensure smooth service flow, particularly during peak periods.
- Guide and supervise kitchen staff, sharing culinary knowledge and techniques to maintain high performance.
- Design and update seasonal menus that reflect our Italian-Indian fusion offerings while ensuring variety and balance.
- Estimate food and labour costs and assist in managing kitchen budgets and supplier negotiations.
- Monitor the consistency, taste, and presentation of dishes during preparation and final plating.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or a related field.
- Proven ability to prepare and present high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound knowledge of Italian and/or Indian cuisines is desirable.
- Full-time: 38 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation per annum.

- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent attention to detail in both preparation and presentation.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
