This role can be based from either our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office
DWF has a flexible hybrid working environment, with regular attendance to the office required.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting senior Fee Earners with the day-to-day conduct of a range of litigated and unlitigated files.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Assisting with document review and analysis.
- Attending to legal research and analysis.
- Provide expert legal advice throughout the litigation process.
- Appearing in court and instructing counsel.
- Communicating with external stakeholders such as other parties, Insured clients, counsel and experts.
- Assisting with Business Development opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
What will help you succeed in this role?:
Essential- Admission to practice law in Australia.
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a Lawyer, preferably in insurance litigation.
- Desire to assist others and work collaboratively in a high performing team.
- High level of competency with iManage (or similar document management system) and time recording software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
- High standards of professionalism and ethical standards.
- A willingness to adopt and utilise AI and new technology.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
