The Purpose:
As the Manager, Risk in Change, this role is a 12 month Max Term control role, where the purpose of the role is to be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing delivered risks associated with organisational change initiatives. This role ensures that risk management frameworks and controls are effectively integrated into change processes, supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives and safeguarding its integrity.
By providing expert advice, identifying risk mitigation strategies, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships, the Manager Risk in Change plays a critical role in enabling successful and sustainable transformation across the business.
The core accountabilities of the role will include:
- Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks in change initiatives, aligned with risk frameworks.
- Support the development and implementation of effective risk controls and mitigation strategies.
- Advise project teams and leaders on risk management best practices.
- Build and manage stakeholder relationships to support risk outcomes.
- Prepare and share risk reports to inform decision-making and ensure transparency.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations during change.
- Enhance risk practices, tools, and data collection through continuous improvement.
The capabilities needed to be successful for this role are:
- Risk Expertise – Qualified in risk management or related discipline, with professional certification preferred.
- Proven Experience – 5+ years in risk management across functions or projects of medium complexity.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation – Skilled in identifying risks, assessing impacts, and implementing effective controls.
- Framework Management – Designs and operates governance and quality frameworks to meet organisational objectives.
- Advisory & Guidance – Provides expert advice on risk, compliance, methods, tools, and standards.
- Process Improvement – Tailors and enhances processes, tools, and practices to optimise outcomes.
- Data & Measurement – Applies techniques for data collection, analysis, and reporting to support risk decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Builds and manages stakeholder relationships to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
