Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will work alongside the Head Chef to assist with food preparation and kitchen management. This role requires an energetic approach to delivering high-quality Japanese cuisine.

Salary: [$70 – 80,000+super per year]

• Work as an integral member of the kitchen team to produce high quality Japanese cuisine dishes
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen by properly storing and handling ingredients, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
• Designing menus, calculating food and labour costs, and procuring food supplies.
• Overseeing the quality of dishes during preparation and presentation.
• Collaborating with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff, and servers on food preparation concerns.
• Showcasing techniques and providing guidance on cooking methods.
• Preparing and cooking various dishes.
• Communicating and ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
• Potentially responsible for recruiting and training staff.
• May handle the freezing and preservation of foods.

• Minimum 1 years of experience as a Cook.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification.
• Great communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to understand cooking methods, handling of ingredients, and use of seasonings to provide high-quality dishes.
• Japanese cuisine experience is desirable and food safety knowledge is essential.
• Strong work ethic and customer service approach.
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to navigate basic systems.
• A la carte experience is highly regarded.
• Ability to handle ingredients, maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, and work according to hygiene standards.
• Ability to propose creative ideas such as developing new dishes or menus, and presenting dishes in an appealing manner.
