Kirks Wine bar is located in one of Melbourne's busiest and beautiful laneways known as Hardware lane. A wine and food institution that has been operating for 10 years in the bustling legal end of Melbourne CBD offering a European-accented menu which changes weekly and consists of seasonally and locally sourced fresh produce.The wine offerings a lovely mixture of old world and new world wine.
The Role
As the Restaurant Manager reporting directly to the business owners, you will:
Drive continuous improvement across all areas of service
Consistently work nights and weekends to troubleshoot and support staff
Liaise with wine buyers and administration staff to ensure operational efficiencies
Recruit, induct, train, and inspire staff
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have at least 3 years’ experience in the hospitality sector along with experience in:
Communicating clearly, respectfully, and patiently with customers and staff alike
Executing staff briefings
Liaising with suppliers regarding restaurant supplies and orders
Liaise with maintenance and cleaning staff
Liaise with chefs regarding menus, upcoming specials, and customer dietaries
Maintaining FOH staff records including RSA certificates
Managing and maintaining the digital time-sheeting solution and back-office payroll system
Monitoring the maintenance of equipment and inventory levels
Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene of spaces
Assisting event managers, wine buyers and site managers
Upholding HR & OH&S policies

A salary package of $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation
You must hold a valid Victorian RSA certification and WSET certificate 2 or 3 would be desirable.
