About us
Mann & Waraich Pty Ltd operate Babu Ji and Piquancy, two successful modern Indian cuisine restaurants. We are looking for a qualified chef to manage and work in the kitchen and take the lead on food preparation in our busy restaurant. The role is based at Piquancy and is full-time and includes day, night and weekend shifts.
About the role
Chefs are responsible for:
o Ensuring profitability of the kitchen section and cost control;o Hot and cold food preparation;
o Develop and follow recipes for menu and off-menu items;
o Maintain appropriate portion control;
o Adapting preparation and kitchen management in line with demand;
o Work closely with head chef and owner;
o Maintain proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards;
o Purchasing and stocking of food and equipment;
o Supervising other kitchen staff;
o Customer management; and
o Cost control
Skills/Qualifications required
Trade certificate/s in cookery or hospitality or apprenticeship
At least 2 years’ work experience
Good communication skills
Indian cuisine experience essential
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
