The Role
Agri Talent on behalf of our client are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician. This role is to assist with mechanical design, manufacture, construction, operation and maintenance of cotton ginning machinery and mechanical installations.Maintain a high level of workmanship in all aspects of your work.
The workplaces are located at Moree, NSW, Goondiwindi, QLD or Mungindi NSW.
Your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Monitor and ensure safe and efficient mechanical production operations at all times.
- Undertake mechanical based maintenance and repairs and safety.
- Identify faults and utilize troubleshooting skills to identify and implement solutions.
- Installing new and modified mechanical assemblies and components.
- Supervision, inspection and maintenance of machines and plants.
- Using tools and equipment.
- Assisting mechanical engineer.
- Ensure maintenance schedule is followed;
- Reporting of production turnout.
- Effective production shift operations to support efficient bale output, reporting downtime, coordination of staff and safety compliance checks;
- Complete all mandatory training as required;
- Ensure all EH&S daily, weekly, and monthly checks;
- Successful mentoring and coaching of trainees;
- Training of casual staff according to company standards.
- Mechanical or electrical certificate (or proven skills in these areas);
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, experience in cotton gin production systems stems required;
- Exposure to managing a diverse team or shift in remote or isolated environments;
- General understanding of hand hydraulics, and moisture systems;
- General ability to use computers, radios, phones, tablets etc. to outcomes reporting requirements;
- Exposure high pressure environments;
- Leadership and management experience;
- Conflict resolution training;
- driver's license;
- Lifting > up to 20kgs;
- Physically capable of performing the role;
- Long periods of sitting and standing;
- Working within confined spaces and working at heights tickets.
For the right candidates, the salary package is $80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation.
