Your Opportunity

This is a 9-month maternity cover contract within a global business, offering one day of working from home and on-site parking. You will be partnered with a senior member of the team who will provide extensive training and support throughout the contract, as well as offering insight into how a payroll system transition is managed.

You will be joining a collaborative payroll team of five, within a company of 3,000 employees across more than 100 locations globally. The payroll team is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll for a large workforce across multiple sites.

This role requires someone who communicates clearly and concisely, can cut through complexity, and is a confident problem-solver.

As the Payroll Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Process end-to-end payroll for a large employee base on a fortnightly basis.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
  • Manage payroll queries from staff in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Calculate and process terminations, leave entitlements, superannuation, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for management and audit purposes.
  • Assist with the payroll system transition from Preceda to Dayforce.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum five years' payroll experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including Fair Work, superannuation, Workcover, and tax.
  • Strong communication skills with concise and accurate delivery.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems, ideally Preceda, Dayforce, or similar.
  • Current Blue Card/Sustainability Card (or ability to obtain prior to start of employment
