We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Painting Apprentice.
As a Painting Apprentice, you will be placed with one of our host employers and work alongside experienced painters to learn the skills and techniques required to become a qualified painter.
You can expect to work full-time, 40 hours per week + the opportunity to accrue an RDO each month.
With the support of qualified tradespeople, you will be:- Assisting experienced painters with surface preparation tasks, such as sanding, filling cracks, and cleaning surfaces
- Learning and applying proper painting techniques, including brushwork, roller application, and spray painting
- Mixing and matching paint colours accurately according to project requirements
- Applying primers, undercoats, and paint coats to surfaces with precision and attention to detail
- Assisting with wallpapering tasks, including measuring, cutting, and hanging wallpaper
- Cleaning and maintaining painting tools, equipment, and work areas
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and using PPE
- Assisting with decorative finishes, such as faux painting, stenciling, or special effects
- Interacting with clients in a professional and courteous manner, understanding their requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Genuine interest and enthusiasm for the painting and decorating trade
- Must hold a White Card or able to obtain ASAP
- Hold (or close to obtaining) a current Drivers License and have own reliable transport
- Work Experience within the construction industry is highly desirable
- Must be physically fit
- Be reliable, resilient, motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to take direction, ability to work well in a team and take direction from others
