Restaurant Hubert is searching for an accomplished senior section waiter to join our highly skilled team.

Restaurant Hubert is an iconic French restaurant in downtown Sydney, offering classic French cuisine, an extensive international wine list and showcasing some of the city’s finest live jazz music. Our focus is on our guests. We guarantee friendly service, a high-quality product, beautiful atmosphere and overall, a magical experience.

We are looking for senior section waiters with an in-depth knowledge of food and wine, who understand how to run a seamless service and have a genuine passion for delivering world class hospitality.

Your key duties and responsibilities will be, but are not limited to;
  • Supports the Supervisor in the smooth running of the section.
  • Assists with training and development of junior team members.
  • Oversees and supervises the wait staff and food service
  • Coordinates the team, training new staff and handling customer service as needed
  • setting tables;
  • taking reservations, greeting customers and presenting them with menus;
  • recommending dishes and wines to complement food
  • taking food orders
  • serving food and beverages;
  • opening bottles and pouring beverages
  • clearing tables
  • POS duties
  • Maintaining the Restaurant Hubert standard in the dining room at all times physically and technically.
  • Upholding the Venue's core values
Skillset and Experience
  • Ability to shadow and train new food runners and commis/junior waiters.
  • Experience running a busy section to a high standard with multiple sittings and following a
detailed sequence of service.
  • Ability to articulate flavours, the provenance of ingredients, basic understanding of recipes, and cooking techniques.
  • Attention to detail, surpassing expectations and authentic gestures of extra service and care.
  • Advanced knowledge of beer styles, classic cocktails, spirit categories, aperitifs and digestifs
  • Advanced knowledge of grape varietals and wine regions and their pairing with food.

This position requires a minimum of three years experience working a restaurant section in a similar style venue.

The salary range for this role is $74,000-$80,000, with final remuneration dependent on previous experience, interviews and trial shifts.
